BN Cal is a chewable calcium citrate supplement designed to support you during your bariatric or (WLS) weight loss surgery journey.
Adequate dietary calcium intake after surgery, and throughout life, is required to maximise bone density and to prevent bone loss - which can result in osteoporosis. After (WLS) weight loss surgery, your body's ability to absorb calcium is reduced from around 40% to only 7-9% - so daily supplementation is required.
Your needs increase after bariatric surgery, and women's calcium requirements are increased after menopause. BN Cal provides 200mg of elemental calcium per tablet, and we recommend 2 to 5 tablets daily.
Calcium is required for muscle contraction, and supports the health and function of the nervous system. Chewable calcium citrate showed the best outcomes for patients after WLS as it can be absorbed in malabsorptive states.
We've created a chewable calcium tablet to assist you in the absorption of calcium citrate and cholecalciferol forms of nutrients, which may assist in preventing bone mineral loss. This is especially important as age increases.

Each chewable calcium tablet contains:
- calcium citrate tetrahydrate (948mg)
- equiv. calcium (200mg)
- cholecalciferol (vitamin D 164 IU) (4.1 micrograms)
- lactose and fructose
